KUALA LUMPUR (June 5): Raja Datuk Idris Raja Kamarudin has resigned from his position as chairman of Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd(KPS), the flagship public-listed corporation of the Selangor state government.

In a filing to the exchange this afternoon, KPS said this is pursuant to a letter from its major shareholder Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd, the investment arm of the Selangor government, which was received today.

Raja Idris, 65, has been on the board of KPS for the past seven years, since his appointment on March 18, 2011. He was a former executive director of TDM Bhd, a public-listed entity owned by the Terengganu state government.

He was also previously attached with the Siemens Group of Companies in Malaysia, where he served as the Managing Director of Nixdorf Computers Malaysia Sdn Bhd and as vice president for the information and communication network of Siemens Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

At noon break, KPS shares slipped 1 sen to RM1.77 after 1.49 million shares were traded.
