<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>"This goes against the policy that foreign firms' stake in energy companies would be limited to 49% to protect national interests," he said in a statement.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Rafizi said the proof was a letter written by the Energy Commission to the Treasury regarding the proposed sale.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>1MDB is selling off its stakes in Edra in a bid to reduce its debts after having racked up more than RM42 billion debt in the six years since its inception.</p></div>
