KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 4): The independent and non-executive chairman of R&A Telecommunication Group Bhd Tunku Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Tunku Ismail has resigned from his post, effective today.

R&A told Bursa Malaysia that Iskandar cited "other personal business commitments" as the reason for the resignation.

Also resigning for the same reason are Lim Chye Guan, a non-independent and non-executive director, and Umsery@Ansari Abdullah, an independent and non-executive director. Both resignations are also effective today.

Meanwhile, R&A appointed Yap Weei Han as its independent and non-executive director.

The 36-year-old Yap was formerly with Grow IT Solutions Sdn Bhd as its chief technology officer (2007). He joined V Channel Sdn Bhd four years later with similar job responsibilities.

R&A closed up half sen or 50% at 1.5 sen today, for a market capitalisation of RM14.5 million. But year to date, the stock has lost over half its market value from when it was trading at 4 sen.
