<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>In a statement today, QES said its unit QES (Asia-Pacific) Sdn Bhd will take over the business, effective from Jan 1, 2021.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>It said the appointment was announced by Nikon following a decision to cease operations of Nikon (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Nikon Malaysia) by year end.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>QES is currently the authorised distributor for Nikon Malaysia’s industrial metrology business.&nbsp;</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>QES managing director/president Chew Ne Weng said Nikon Malaysia and QES had been key partners since 2009.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>He said the appointment will see QES further strengthen sales and aftersales service support.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“Nikon’s products have [been] consistently maintained as one of the top three suppliers (sic) of QES,” he said.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>At 10.23am, QES shares were unchanged at 28.5 sen, with a market capitalisation of RM237.73 million.</p></div>
