KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 19): PUC Bhd's unit is collaborating with Smuzcity Bhd (SCB) to fortify its online-to-offline (O2O) services.

In a filing today, the firm said its unit PUC Ventures Sdn Bhd (PUCV) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SCB, paving the way for its digital lifestyle platform known as Presto (formerly 11street Malaysia) to market and sell SCB's JDX-branded products.

SCB's unit Smuzcity Solutions Sdn Bhd is the official partner of JD Logistic Group (JDLG) assigned by JDLG logistics innovation lab known as Jingdong Logistics Group X Department (JDX) for region of Malaysia to conduct the "Jingdong X Unmanned Business" project business development, business negotiation and business landing work, said the filing.

The deal will see Presto marketing and selling JDX products.

Under the partnership, PUC will also set up Presto O2O company to further solidify Presto's ecosystem.

PUC said the parties are anticipated to develop the business and widen it across Southeast Asia cities for the next three years in tandem.

It said the partnership will be effective for 12 months from the signing date agreed mutually by both sides.

"The MoU is not expected to have any material immediate effect on the earnings per share, net assets per share and gearing of PUC for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2019," it said.

At the noon break today, PUC shares were unchanged at 6.5 sen, valuing it at RM143.05 million.
