KUALA LUMPUR (June 19): The private sector has been urged to cooperate with the Government to help with business security, infrastructure and public awareness.

Nor Ezam Selan, senior director of corporate technology at Mimos Bhd, said e-commerce platform providers should ensure their platform is constantly updated and protected from any security threats that can negatively affect transactions.

Speaking to Bernama during an interview at Technology Park Malaysia here today, he said the private sector can help the Government enhance the marketability of products sold online by ensuring wider and safer delivery of the products.

He said the private sector can also conduct campaigns to raise public awareness of the advantages of e-commerce, especially among those who still need to hold, see and physically try every item they wish to buy.

He added that industry players are generally of the opinion that some policies regarding e-commerce can still be improved to make them more consumer-friendly and help grow the industry.
