Probe into airport accident expected to be completed in a month

SEPANG (March 21): The Air Accidents Investigation Bureau’s probe into the fatal accident on the runway of the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang on Monday, is expected to be completed in a month, said Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Kamarudin Jaffar.

Police were also conducting their own investigations, he told reporters after officiating a passing out parade for Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) security personnel at Kompleks Bunga Raya, KL International Airport here today.

In the 3.20am incident, Mohd Ruzaimi Iskandar Ahmad Razali, 39, the driver of MAHB engineering vehicle as seriously injured after it was involved in an accident with a private aircraft on the runway of the airport. He died at the Sungai Buloh Hospital at 6.45pm on Tuesday.

He leaves behind wife Nor Azawiah Md Usuf and four children, aged from one to 13 years.

In KUALA LUMPUR, Selangor  police chief  Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin told Bernama that police would be calling up witnesses and the pilot to assist investigations.

He said the case has been classified under Section 304(a) of the Penal Code (Causing Death by Negligence).
