KUALA LUMPUR: Activist Ali Abd Jalil tasted freedom for the first time in more than three weeks yesterday after being released from police custody without being re-arrested.
His lawyer New Sin Yew told The Malaysian Insider that Ali was released from the Nusajaya police headquarters at 3.35pm. Police are investigating Ali for allegedly posting seditious material on social media.
He spent more than 20 days in police custody and was taken to three states, where reports were lodged against him, for investigations. — The Malaysian Insider
