KUALA LUMPUR (Apr 9): PMB Tijari Bhd chief executive officer Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin has been appointed as an independent and non-executive chairman of NetX Holdings Bhd, formerly Ariantec Global Bhd, with immediate effect.

PMB Tijari is a financial services arm of Pelaburan MARA Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, NetX said Tengku Ahmad, 46, is also director of Asia Bionergy Technologies Bhd.

"Tengku Badli has extensive years of exposure in the financial industry sector. He started his career as a management trainee in Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp, Hong Kong in 1994 and continued his stint with HSBC Group in various senior positions covering both corporate and commercial as well as retail and consumer banking division.

"He later pursued his career with Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Bhd in February 2008 as head of branch management before joining PMB Tijari in September 2013," said NetX.

NetX (fundamental: 1.65; valuation: 0.6) shares have seen heavy trading volumes in the past two days. It was the most actively traded stock on Bursa Malaysia yesterday, with 106.26 million shares changing hands.

As at 3.30pm today, it was trading up 0.5 sen or 6.67% to 8 sen, with 79.83 million shares traded, and was the most actively traded stock on the exchange. The company has a market capitalisation of RM46.92 million.
