KUALA LUMPUR (May 12): The National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) has urged local companies to step and participate in this year’s MSC Malaysia Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) to unveil the country’s best talents.

In a statement yesterday (May 11), PIKOM said APICTA is widely regarded as the foremost industry showcase for excellence in ICT.

“It serves as the industry’s most acclaimed platform to recognise ground-breaking achievements, creativity and innovation, while also providing the launch-pad for local ICT companies to make their mark.

“Past winners have gone on to greater success at the international level; companies such as Fusionex, MDT Innovation and Les Copaque are among the notable names,” it said.

Calling for participants nationwide, APICTA was initiated by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDeC) together with PIKOM, and has received the patronage of the Prime Minister since its inception in 1999.

PIKOM chairman Chin Chee Seong said APICTA winners benefit from publicity and exposure to venture capitalists and investors, leveraging the coveted Award brand to benchmark their ICT products and services.
