KUALA LUMPUR (April 9): Pakatan Harapan (PH) has designated its chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the leader of its campaign for the 15th general election and candidate for prime minister.

In a statement, the coalition also urged Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to advise Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah to declare an end to the state of emergency and reconvene Parliamentary sittings.

PH also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the coalition ahead of the polls and demonstrating its ability to lead and administrate the nation in a democratic and fair manner.

"We acknowledge the potential and importance of Sabah and Sarawak as the new engines of economic growth in driving national development, with a guarantee of distributing resources in a fairer way, in line with the synergy of the development of Indonesia's new capital in Kalimantan," it said.

The coalition said it will also mobilise all its members of Parliament and state leaders to do their utmost to deal with issues concerning economic recovery and the welfare of the people.

"We will also continue to involve all stakeholders to develop the Pakatan Harapan manifesto," it said, adding that it will be open to negotiating and working with any party, based on the principles and reformation agenda for the sake of the people.

PH said it will embark on an interstate tour to explain its stand and solutions to the economy, political stability, and the Covid-19 crisis.
