KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 3): Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) is no longer providing fuel to Indonesia state-owned utility PT PLN (Persero)'s 1,000 megawatt gas-fired power plant in Central Java province after both companies' gas sale agreement ended on Sept 23 this year, The Jakarta Post reported.

The Jakarta Post, quoting Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas) spokesman Wisnu Prabawa Taher, reported yesterday that Indonesia's Pertamina is now supplying fuel to the power plant.

"Right now, from the upstream, PLN is being supplied by the Gundih gas field and, going forward, it will also get supply from the Jambaran-Tiung Biru field," he said.

It was reported that Pertamina subsidiaries Pertamina EP and Pertamina EP Cepu operate the Gundih and Jambaran-Tiung Biru fields respectively. While the Gundih field has been onstream since 2013, the Jambaran-Tiung Biru field is expected to go onstream by 2021, The Jakarta Post reported.

"PLN previously received gas from Petronas's Kepodang gas field until the two company's gas sales agreement ended on Sept 23. The termination was made known when publicly-listed state-owned gas company PGN — the minority owner of Kepodang — issued an announcement to shareholders on the subject," The Jakarta Post reported.

At the time of writing today, Petronas had not issued a statement in response to The Jakarta Post's report.
