KUALA LUMPUR (April 5): Peterlabs Holdings Bhd said it is unaware of the reason behind the recent spike in its share price and volume.

“The board of directors of Peterlabs wish to confirm that to the best of their knowledge and after making due enquiry with the available directors and major shareholder of the company seeking the cause of the UMA (unusual market activity) in the company’s securities, Peterlabs is not aware of any factors which may have contributed to the UMA,” said the group in a filing with the bourse.

It further said that it is not aware of any corporate development, rumour or report that may have resulted in the unusual trading of its shares.

Notably, the filing was made despite there being no UMA query by Bursa Malaysia.

Since the start of the week, Peterlabs’ share price has been on an uptrend, gaining 6 sen or 19% since its closing of 31 sen on April 1.

Today, the counter closed unchanged at 37 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM79.45 million.
