KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 13): Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PetDag) and Maxis Bhd have inked a strategic partnership to jointly offer converged solutions focusing on safety, security and sustainability for businesses.

In a joint statement, the firms said the partnership will focus on leveraging big data and advanced analytics to co-create hyper personalization for an enhanced retail experience.

PetDag managing director and CEO Azrul Osman Rani said the partnership with Maxis is a step to create unique retail experiences at Petronas stations as part of its retail transformation strategy. 

“Leveraging technology and innovation, we aspire to be at the forefront of the industry and continuously delight our customers in meeting their changing needs and lifestyles,” he said.

Meanwhile, Maxis CEO Gokhan Ogut said the agreement was a culmination of shared vision between PetDag and Maxis.

“Our experience in big data analytics and advanced technology enables us to offer better converged solutions for our customers,” he said.

The firms said the partnership aims to co-create solutions and services that will offer a more differentiated and enhanced retail experience at PetDag’s retail stations, such as hyper personalisation through big data and advanced analytics with Maxis as the technology enabler. 

PetDag and Maxis will also go to market with converged end-to-end business solutions that will offer greater convenience and cost optimization, while ensuring the safety and security of their assets, fleet and drivers.

At midday break today, PetDag dipped 1.13% or 24 sen to RM21.06 for a market capitalisation of RM20.92 billion, while Maxis was flat at RM5.04, valuing it at RM39.43 billion.
