KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 23): Pestech International Bhd is exploring opportunities to provide roof top solar power solutions and establish a green renewable energy initiative programme in the free commercial and industrial zone in Port Klang.

Pestech said this will be done in collaboration with Port Klang Free Zone Sdn Bhd (PKFZ), with whom it signed a memorandum of understanding today.

The MoU is in line with the transformation master plan launched by PKFZ today, Pestech said in  a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

The group said its wholly-owned unit Pestech Power Sdn Bhd has incorporated a subsidiary named Pestech REI Sdn Bhd for the purpose of undertaking the renewable energy initiative programme.

“The MoU will have no material effect on earnings, revenue and net assets per share of the group for the financial year ending June 30, 2020, but is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of Pestech if the collaboration between the parties is successful,” the group added.

The share price of Pestech fell one sen or 0.75% to RM1.32 today, valuing the group at RM1.01 billion. The counter saw some 289,200 shares transacted.
