KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 1): Perusahaan Sadur Timah Malaysia Bhd (Perstima) Bhd fell as much as 17% after the tinplate producer said first quarter net profit dropped 76% from a year earlier.

Perstima shares fell to their lowest so far today at RM6.75.

At 10:38am, the stock pared losses at RM6.80, with 220,800 shares traded. At RM6.80, Perstima had a market capitalisation of RM675.31 million.

Yesterday, Perstima said net profit dropped to RM2.84 million in the first quarter ended June 30, 2017 (1QFY18), from RM11.79 million. 

The company said revenue, however, rose to RM237.5 million, from RM176.29 million.
