PUTRAJAYA (Nov 16): Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) today unveiled its third-generation Myvi, with prices starting from RM44,300 up till RM55,300.

"From the day we announced our booking for the all-new Myvi on Nov 9 up until this afternoon, we have received 5,000 units of booking," Perodua president-cum-chief executive officer Datuk Dr Aminar Rashid Salleh told reporters in a press conference held alongside the launch here today.

"The numbers are overwhelming — the fact that 5,000 units of booking have been made even before the public has seen the car gives us a positive indication," he added.

Nevertheless, Aminar said Perodua is keeping to its sales target of 6,000 units on average per month.

The all-new Myvi, which comes with either the 1.3 litre or 1.5 litre Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) engine, is now available at all Perodua showrooms nationwide.

Among other features, the next-gen Perodua Myvi is equipped with the Advanced Safety Assist, which has key functions including pre-collision warning and braking, front departure alert, and pedal misoperation control.

UMW Holdings Bhd is the largest shareholder of Perodua with a 38% stake, while Daihatsu, which holds a 20% stake, is also Perodua's technology and technical partner.
