KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 8): Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) is targeting average monthly sales of 4,000 units for its 2020 Perodua Bezza sedan this year, helped by its facelift's fuel efficiency, dependability, spaciousness, practicality and low-ownership costs.

Priced from RM34,580 to RM49,980 on-the-road before insurance in Peninsular Malaysia, the 2020 Perodua Bezza is the first upgrade Perodua made for the model since the first Bezza was launched in July 2016, Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad (pictured) said today.

Speaking to reporters here today at the launch of the 2020 Perodua Bezza, Zainal said the facelift's fuel efficiency, dependability, spaciousness, practicality and low-ownership costs are factors deemed important to its target market comprising families.

"For this year, our targeted sales for Bezza is an average of 4,000 units a month, and when we look at new bookings, since we opened on Jan 3 until now, we have received about 2,000 bookings, on top of our 8,000 carried forward bookings from last year, so in total bookings (for the 2020 Perodua Bezza) about 10,000. We target to make deliveries in one month or slightly more than that.

"Although our monthly target is 4,000 units, but for this January, we think we could reach more than 5,000 deliveries of Bezza.

"This is the first upgrade we made since the first Bezza (was) launched in July 2016, so we think it is time for us to refresh. The major thing is design, in terms of making it more stable and solid. The 2020 Perodua Bezza is the result of our many engagements with our valued customers. The improvements we have made are centred around the ideas of smart design, smart drive and smart safety," Zainal said.

To date, he said Perodua has delivered 184,000 units of Bezza since its launch in 2016.

The 2020 Perodua Bezza was open for booking since Friday (Jan 3).

Perodua said in a statement then that the 2020 Perodua Bezza is offered in manual transmission (MT) and automatic tranmission (AT) variants, comprising the 1.0 G MT, 1.0 G AT, 1.3 X AT and 1.3 AV AT variants.
