KUALA LUMPUR (April 26): Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd has launched the Bezza GXtra, an updated variant to replace the 1.0 Standard G model under its Bezza sedan range, with the manual transmission model priced from RM35,500 and the automatic transmission from RM37,500.

Under the hood, the Bezza GXtra is powered by a 1.0 litre 1KR-VE engine with VVT-I, with a choice of five-speed manual or four-speed E-AT automatic transmission. The carmaker claims a fuel efficiency of 22.8 km/l for the manual and 21.3 km/l for the automatic version.

The new variant features side skirts and chromed outside door handles, with an additional exterior colour choice, Ocean Blue, which was previously only available for the 1.3 Bezza variants.

“The Bezza GXtra represents the next step in the model’s lifespan. By providing a trim specification comparable to the 1.3 Premium X Bezza, we are offering more value for money within the Bezza range than ever before,” said Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh.

“The new Bezza GXtra represents Perodua’s enduring dedication to our customers, as it was conceived based on their feedback. The Bezza has struck a chord with young Malaysian families who appreciate its dependability, low running costs, ease to drive and generous space.”

The Bezza is the carmaker’s first sedan, as well as Malaysia’s most affordable energy-efficient vehicle (EEV) sedan. Since its launch in mid-2016, almost 100,000 units of Bezza have been sold.

Prices for the Bezza GXtra are on-the-road, before insurance in Peninsula Malaysia, and come with a five-year or 150,000km warranty.
