KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 25): Perdana Petroleum Bhd has bagged work orders worth up to RM48 million from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd to provide two anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels.

In filings with Bursa Malaysia today, Perdana Petroleum said its wholly-owned subsidiary Perdana Nautika Sdn Bhd (PNSB) was awarded two work orders on July 29 and Aug 29 respectively by Petronas Carigali to supply the two AHTS vessels.

One of the vessels is for one year starting Aug 30, with an extension option of another year. The estimated value of the contract is between RM20 million and RM40 million, if the extension option is exercised.

Another contract commences in early August for a duration of 145 days, with an extension option of 30 days. The estimated value is between RM7 million and RM8 million.

"PNSB will provide the AHTS vessels with crews and equipment to perform 24-hour services for assisting and/or servicing drilling rigs, offshore installation, derrick barges, towing and anchor jobs," Perdana Petroleum said.

"The contracts are expected to contribute positively to the group's earnings and net assets for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2019. The contracts will not have an effect on the share capital and shareholding structure of Perdana Petroleum," it added.

Perdana Petroleum shares closed down 0.5 sen or 1.61% at 30.5 sen today, with 1.84 million shares done, bringing a market capitalisation of RM237.43 million.
