(Dec 23): The inaugural Penang Property Summit 2015 will be held from Jan 9 to 11, 2015. It will provide a platform for industry players and the public to network, broaden their knowledge on property related issues and discuss industry trends.

Themed "Managing Future Trends and Challenges," the summit will comprise two events: the Penang International Property Conference 2015, held on the first two days of the summit, and the Penang International Property Expo (PIP) 2015.

The summit is co-organised by Penevents Sdn Bhd and the Penang state government, and will be officiated by Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

"With changes evolving both locally and abroad, and with the business environment changing dramatically, it is imperative that practitioners adapt to the changes and maintain their competitive edge," says Ong Ban Seang, managing director of Penevents and the summit's event director.

"While 13 expos have been organised [in Penang in the past], we deemed it fit to collaborate with the Penang State Government to initiate an iconic state property event which encompasses both an expo and a conference," he said.

The conference will address current key topics in the property industry, to be dealt with by pertinent industry players.

They include "A Regional Perspective of the Property Market" by Chia Boon Kuah, President of Real Estate Developers' Association of Singapore (REDAS); "What and where to look for investments in Penang" by Dato Lee Kah Choon, Director of Invest Penang; and a panel discussion on "Affordable housing - Meeting Growing Demands" moderated by Penang State Executive Councillor for Housing, Town and Country Planning Jagdeep Singh Deo.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng will deliver a keynote address at the conference and participate in a round-table discussion with a team of Penang property CEOs, entitled "Meeting Future Challenges in Penang Property Scene." It will be moderated by Ho Kay Tat, CEO of The Edge Media Group.

The Penang Property Summit 2015 is put together by stake holders from both the public and private sectors comprising the organising committee.
