KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 09): Property developer Global Oriental Bhd (GOB) saw shareholding changes today, with Datuk Choo Chuo Siang — a non-executive director in Pavilion REIT — emerging as a substantial shareholder with a deemed interest of 14.9 million shares or a 6.55% stake.

According to filings to Bursa Malaysia today, Choo had acquired Indera Muhibbah Sdn Bhd — a vehicle holding the 6.55% stake in GOB — from Goh Chee Keen, Gan Wei Pin and How Wee Teck, on Sept 03. This resulted in Goh, Gan and How ceasing to be substantial shareholders of GOB.

Meanwhile, Othman Mohammed remains the single largest shareholder of GOB, with indirect holdings of 12.05%.

GOB is deemed to have business ties with tycoon Tan Sri Ta Kin Yan, and tycoon Tan Sri Desmond Lim — who is one of the major shareholders of Pavilion REIT.

GOB has attracted interests, following The Edge Financial Daily’s recent report that the company is planning to kickstart over RM2 billion worth of developments next year.

The stock closed unchanged today at RM1.08.
