KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 13): PAS has made a decision on its political standing in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15), whereby the party will remain in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition, and it will not dissolve the state assemblies under its ruling now, including Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah.

PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said in a statement on Thursday (Oct 13) that the party’s central working committee had decided to strengthen collaboration within PN in the GE15 based on the Islamic ummah principle.

The Marang Member of Parliament said the party will finalise negotiations on seat allocation with PN, and candidates will have to be evaluated by PAS’ Syura Ulama Council.

The latest decision means that PAS will not work with Umno in the GE15, given that Umno's clause to work with PAS is for the islamic party to quit PN.
