KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 15): Industrial engineering and marine product supplier Pansar Bhd was slapped with an unusual market activity (UMA) query by Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd, after its share price hit a 15-year high of 79 sen today. 

The counter hit an intra-day high of 80 sen before closing at 79 sen for a three sen or 3.95% gain. Volume in today’s half-day trading session was 5.12 million shares, more than its 200-day average volume of 349,761. 

At today’s closing price, Pansar’s market capitalisation was RM243.32 million. 

Pansar’s share price has risen by 88.31% in a year. 

Bursa Malaysia questioned Pansar as to whether there is any corporate development relating to the group’s business and affairs, including those in the stage of negotiation and discussion. 

Pansar was also queried on any rumour or report concerning its business, or whether it is aware of any other possible explanation to account for the trading activity. 

The stock, which has been charting an unptrend since Feb 6, rose as high as RM36.33 on Dec 31, 1996.
