<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>According to Panasonic's filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the company had completed full screening of about 2,137 workers and employees, and only 116 were found to be affected.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>The Petaling district Health office advised Panasonic to cease its operations for the time being until further notice.&nbsp;</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Following the advice, Panasonic decided to close its facilities from today to Wednesday to allow disinfection specialists to carry out their work.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“The safety and well-being of our workers and employees as well as our community is of our utmost priority towards containing the situation. We have and will continue to adhere to the Covid-19 preventive standard operating procedures (SOPs) on a stringent basis,” said Panasonic.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Panasonic also said disinfection exercises&nbsp;had been conducted regularly on its manufacturing premises and workers' accommodation, with all the necessary precautionary measures strictly in place.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>At the time of writing today, Panasonic's share price was four sen or 0.32% lower at RM31.50, bringing the company’s market capitalisation to about RM1.92 billion.</p></div>
