KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 25): Shares in Omesti Bhd rose as much as 17.2% this afternoon following news that it has been appointed by Huawei as the system integration partner for the latter’s business support platform.
Omesti shares rose 10.5 sen to its multi-year high of 71.5 sen. At the time of writing, the counter was still up six sen or 9.84% at 67 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM320.64 million.
Under the partnership with Huawei Technologies Co Ltd, Omesti is appointed as authorised system integration partner for its business support systems, which are designed for application with customer relationship management and billing activities, primarily in the telecommunications sector.
The appointment followed a three-month programme, including evaluation of Omesti employers in China, coupled with intensive on-site sessions in Kuala Lumpur covering coding, face-to-face interviews and class assessments.
Additionally, Omesti has also been authorised as a reseller of Huawei software, giving access to the technology giant’s extensive portfolio of cloud and Internet of Things solutions.
Omesti shares have rallied since early February. The counter has gained over 76% in the past one year.
