KOTA KINABALU (Oct 15): The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will meet the Sabah State Secretary to discuss the placement of its officers at government departments and agencies in the state.
Sabah MACC director Karunanithy Y. Subbiah said the meeting is scheduled on Oct 18 and any decision on the matter would be made after that.
He was met by reporters after paying a courtesy call on Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal here today.
On the meeting with Mohd Shafie today, Karunanithy said they discussed, among others, on programmes carried out by MACC to educate the public, especially civil servants, against corruption.
He said this was in line with the National Anti-Corruption Plan to enlist and foster public support to fight corruption.
Karunanithy, 52, was appointed as Sabah MACC director on Sept 17. — Bernama
