KUALA LUMPUR (April 23): OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is offering its Premier Voyage Card members the option to convert their Voyage Miles into a contribution to the Edge Covid-19 Equipment Fund, and the bank would then match dollar-for-dollar with no maximum amount.

This is part of OCBC Bank’s special Covid-19 aid programme launched today, it said in a statement.

To contribute, OCBC Premier Voyage Card members may call their Aspire Concierge Services and pledge a minimum of 5,000 Voyage Miles to contribute to The Edge Covid-19 Equipment Fund.

“We would like to offer the opportunity to our Premier Voyage Card members to utilise their Voyage Miles for a worthy cause through this programme, and we are making it even more attractive by offering to top up every dollar from them with another from us — without limits.

“Despite the current travel restrictions by various countries across the world in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, Premier Voyage Card members who are frequent travellers may still make their previous Voyage Miles count and go the distance in the fight against the outbreak by converting them into a cash contribution for The Edge Covid-19 Equipment Fund,” said OCBC Bank head of consumer financial services Lim Wyson.

The Edge Covid-19 Equipment Fund has raised RM14.41 million to date. It has distributed personal protective equipment to hospitals and district clinics across Malaysia.

It will send 60 breathing machines to East Malaysia, and has ordered 80 ventilators to be given to hospitals in Peninsular Malaysia.
