Nova MSC announced yesterday that its indirect Singaporean subsidiary EyRIS Pte Ltd had secured a five-year contract from the city state’s Ministry of Health to deploy SELENA+, EyRIS’ first artificial intelligence (AI)-based product.

However, it did not disclose the exact value of the contract and instead said the project is expected to deliver “tremendous” recurring income over the long run.

The firm said SELENA+ cuts the time needed to spot signs of diabetic eye diseases, principally diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration.

The product was jointly developed by a research team from the Singapore National Eye Centre’s Singapore Eye Research Institute and National University of Singapore’s School of Computing.
