KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 22): North America-based manufacturers of semiconductor equipment posted US$3.72 billion in billings worldwide in September 2021 (three-month average basis), said the US-based Semiconductor Equipment & Materials International (SEMI).

In its Semptember Equipment Market Data Subscription billings report published on Thursday (Oct 21), SEMI said the billings figure is 35.5% higher than the final September 2020 billings of US$2.74 billion and 1.7% higher than the August 2021 billings level of US$3.66 billion.

SEMI president and CEO Ajit Manocha said monthly billings of North America-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers edged up in September to near the record high set in July.

“The ongoing growth in key end-market segments and silicon content continues to drive gains for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem including equipment.”

The SEMI billings report uses three-month moving averages of worldwide billings for North American-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers. Billings figures are in millions of US dollars.
