KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 25): North America-based manufacturers of semiconductor equipment posted US$3.74 billion in billings worldwide in October 2021 (three-month average basis), said the US-based Semiconductor Equipment & Materials International (SEMI).

In its October Equipment Market Data Subscription (EMDS) Billings Report published Nov 22, SEMI said the billings figure is 0.6% higher than final September 2021 billings of US$3.72 billion and 41.3% higher than October 2020 billings of US$2.65 billion.

SEMI president and CEO Ajit Manocha said monthly billings of North America-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers showed continued strength in October.

"The push towards digital transformation along with robust demand for multiple disruptive applications continues to drive semiconductor equipment sales," he said.

The SEMI billings report uses three-month moving averages of worldwide billings for North American-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers. Billings figures are in millions of US dollars.
