KUALA LUMPUR (19 May): OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad has made it easier and quicker for its customers checking balances in their bank accounts, cards and investments,  via its launch of the app OCBC OneTouch, which combines Apple’s Touch ID technology with banking.

OCBC's OneTouch is the first among foreign banks in the country, and is the latest among OCBC’s digital innovations.

Apple’s Touch ID technology creates a fingerprint recognition system that makes basic banking simpler and more accessible.

According to OCBC’s head of e-business Mr Roy Heong, checking balances accounts for more than half of all online transactions.

“OCBC OneTouch represents another massive stride forward in the journey toward greater convenience and security, two key elements that are sometimes on opposite ends of the spectrum, but both of which customers today demand in order to keep up to date with their finances,” he said.

Customers get started by performing a one-time activation by keying in their OCBC Mobile Banking login ID and password. Thereafter, within the Mobile Banking app, customers need only to place their finger on the home button to view their account balances.
