KUALA LUMPUR (April 25): Based on corporate announcements and news flow today, stocks in focus for Friday (April 26) may include the following: NetX Holdings Bhd, Nestlé Malaysia Bhd, Petronas Dagangan Bhd, Alam Maritim Resources Bhd, Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Bhd, Vitrox Corp Bhd, Atlan Holdings Bhd and Tropicana Corp Bhd.  

NetX Holdings Bhd is collaborating with Buy Tickets Sdn Bhd to provide technology for the latter's online ticketing website or platform known as buytickets.com.my.

Nestlé Malaysia Bhd has budgeted RM220 million capital expenditure for 2019, the highest in five years. Some RM100 million will be used for the Chembong factory expansion, and the remainder for improvements to its other factories and to fund some other projects.

Petronas Dagangan Bhd has increased its capital expenditure allocation to about RM500 million for financial year ending Dec 31, 2019 (FY19) from RM300 million in FY18, to refurbish existing petrol stations and Mesra convenience stores, as well as the planned establishment of about 10 new petrol stations within the group's network.

Alam Maritim Resources Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary Alam Maritim (M) Sdn Bhd has bagged an RM2.32 million service order contract from FPSO Ventures Sdn Bhd for the provision of manpower, equipment, remotely operated vehicles (ROV) and diving support vessel (DSV) for underwater inspection in lieu of dry-docking (UWILD) operations, for FSO Angsi.

Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd's net profit declined 0.96% to RM33.9 million year-on-year in the first quarter ended March 31, 2019 on higher advertising and promotional spend. The group has declared a dividend of 50 sen a share.

Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Bhd’s net profit grew by 37.82% to RM96.44 million year-on-year in the first quarter ended March 31, 2019 on higher net Wakalah fee income arising from business growth in its family takaful segment.

Revenue in the quarter rose 23.05% to RM918.16 million, mainly attributable to higher sales generated by the family takaful segment.

Vitrox Corp Bhd has posted a 17% year-on-year increase in net profit to RM23.62 million in the first quarter ended March 31, 2019 on the back of a 15% rise in revenue. Earnings per share rose to 5.02 sen, from 4.31 sen in 1QFY18.

The semiconductor and electronics tester has declared a dividend of 4 sen per share — up a sen from the same quarter last year.

Atlan Holdings Bhd posted a 78% plunge in net profit to RM5.78 million for the fourth quarter ended Feb 28, 2019 (4QFY19) against RM26.35 million in the previous corresponding quarter, on the back of lower earnings in all business segments.

For the full year, its net profit declined 18.6% to RM39.9 million while revenue was 6.2% lower at RM774.92 million.

Tropicana Corp Bhd has inked four joint development agreements (JDA) to develop four pieces of land in Langkawi and Pekan Nenas, Johor, with a total estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM4.78 billion.

The first JDA was inked with Pantai Kok Resort Development Sdn Bhd to develop 44.61 acres at Padang Mat Sirat, Langkawi over 15 years, with estimated GDV of RM3.02 billion.  

The second JDA was with Sinaran Ramah Sdn Bhd to develop a 2.48-acre land in Mukim Kedawang, Langkawi over seven years, with estimated GDV of RM308.3 million.  

The third JDA was with Suci Padu Sdn Bhd to develop a 1,143.8-acre piece of land in Pekan Nenas Land 1 in Pontian, Johor, and the fourth with Ibarat Indah Sdn Bhd to develop 45 acres in Pekan Nenas Land 2.  

Both Pekan Nenas projects — to develop a logistics and transportation industrial hub — will have an estimated GDV of RM1.45 billion combined, and will be developed over seven years.
