KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak claimed yesterday that his signatures on several documents related to SRC International Sdn Bhd were forged and manipulated.

The original copies of these documents were, however, not tendered as evidence before High Court Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali.

According to Najib, who was also the finance minister, the SRC-related documents included three sets of SRC extraordinary general meeting minutes and Minister of Finance (Inc) (MoF Inc) meeting minutes on 1Malaysia Development Bhd.

He said he does not believe that these were the documents he saw or signed on behalf of MoF Inc.

Najib added that items highlighted in some of these documents were related to SRC’s operational matters which, he said, were the company’s directors’ responsibility and were left to their discretion.

These documents are also related to the amendment to SRC’s memorandum and articles of association, which gave Najib control over SRC through its chief executive officer and managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil, he said.

However, Najib denied signing the minutes that approved the amendment. He also questioned the authenticity of these documents.

The proceedings continue on Monday morning.
