KUALA LUMPUR (June 6): My EG Services Bhd (MyEG) today announced the incorporation of a wholly-owned subsidiary known as MYEG Medical Services Sdn Bhd to market medical products and services in the country.

This follows last month’s launch of the e-government service provider's one-stop portal for employers to register and manage the Covid-19 health screening of their workforce.

In a bourse filing today, MyEG said the new unit is parked under the group's investment holding arm MY E.G. Capital Sdn Bhd.

"The proposed principal activity of MYEG Medical is to market medical products and services including health screening solutions and management services," the group said.

"The incorporation does not have any effect on the issued and paid-up share capital of the company and has no material effect on the earnings and net assets of the company and its subsidiaries for the financial year ending 31 December 2020," it added.

When launching the one-stop portal, MyEG said employees including foreign workers, who are contributors to the Social Security Organisation (Socso), are eligible to have the cost of testing covered by Socso’s Prihatin Screening Programme.

"MyEG’s portal is an option for companies that wish to streamline the process of getting workers tested, providing employers with the necessary tools to register and receive confirmation of the eligibility of their workforce for the Prihatin Screening Programme.

"At the same time, through a partnership with a panel of Socso registered clinics, MyEG will also arrange for screening to be conducted on-site a employers’ premises by trained medical practitioners adhering fully to Ministry of Health guidelines. For workers not covered by the Prihatin Screening Programme, the cost of testing can be paid out-of-pocket," the company said.

MyEG shares closed down four sen or 3.01% at RM1.29 today, with 20.15 million shares done. This gave the company a market capitalisation of RM4.65 billion.
