KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 16): My EG Services Bhd (MyEG) says it has received the government's nod for the renewal of its courier service licence, which will allow the company to expand its e-fulfilment service.

The notification of the approval, from the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission, was received by the group today, it said in a stock exchange filing.

The renewed licence is for a period of three years, effective from Jan 1 this year to Dec 31, 2021, and is renewable upon expiry.

“The renewed licence will enable MyEG to continue to expand its e-fulfilment service which uses its own proprietary biometric verification technology and it is expected to continue to contribute positively to the future earnings and net assets of MyEG and its subsidiaries,” the group said.

MyEG's courier service licence was previously granted in 2016 for a three-year period, starting from Jan 1, 2016.

MyEG shares rose three sen or 2.86% to close at RM1.08 today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM3.89 billion. The counter was one of the most actively traded stocks on Bursa Malaysia today, with 56.12 million shares traded.
