KUALA LUMPUR (July 1): MyEG Services Bhd said it will continue to provide e-government services in Malaysia until further notice from the Ministry of Transport as the extension of the company's Road Transport Department (RTD) agreement with government had not been finalised.

The RTD is also known as Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ).

"Reference is made to the announcements dated July 23, 2014 on the extension of MyEG’s concession agreement for the provision of the electronic delivery of vehicle registration, driver and vehicle licensing and payment of summons services (e-government services) (JPJ agreement) and May 22, 2020 on the official notification from the Ministry of Transport (notification letter) to continue with the provision of the e-government services until June 30, 2020.

"The board of directors of the company wishes to inform that in accordance with the notification letter, MyEG will continue to provide the e-government services until further notice from the Ministry of Transport as the extension of the JPJ agreement has not been finalised," MyEG said.

MyEG said its board is committed to pursuing the extension of the JPJ agreement from the government.

"Should there be any further developments on this matter, the company will release the necessary announcements in a timely manner to Bursa Malaysia," MyEG said.

On Bursa, MyEG's share price was two sen or 1.41% lower at RM1.40 at 10.47am today, with a market capitalisation of RM4.91 billion. The stock saw 7.78 million shares traded.
