KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan United Industries Bhd (MUI) said it is not disposing of Corus Hotel Hyde Park — its crown jewel in London — nor has it appointed real estate firm Debutesq Group for the sale of the property.

It was responding to an article published by The Edge Financial Daily on Sept 29 titled “Yu picks up shares in MUI”.

“The company denies all allegations therein pertaining to the purported disposal of Corus Hotel Hyde Park and the purported appointment of a real estate firm referred to in the said article as Debutesq Group,” said MUI in a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

The Edge Financial Daily quoted an article posted on a UK property news website in July, in which MUI was said to have appointed Debutesq Group to sell the property for £200 million (RM1.06 billion). — by Ahmad Naqib Idris Adzman Shah
