KUALA LUMPUR (July 12): Home Affairs Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will go on a one-month leave to receive medical treatment, after completing a surgery to remove a tumour on his pancreas.

In a statement today, the ministry’s press secretary Hafiz Abdul Halim said the tumour was discovered at an early stage and the surgery was completed successfully. The minister’s condition is now stable.

Hafiz said Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will take charge of the ministry’s daily operations during Muhyiddin’s absence.
