MRCB Land introduces anchor tenants of VIVO Signature Retail

MRCB Land Sdn Bhd has revealed the anchor tenants of its latest retail outlet, VIVO Signature Retail — the commercial component of the VIVO series at 9 Seputeh in Jalan Klang Lama, Kuala Lumpur.

In a media event on July 9, MRCB Land CEO Raymond Cheah said the developer has secured three anchor tenants — Campus Rangers, SKM Market and SubHome — which will be taking up close to 90,000 sq ft of the 218,195 sq ft available at VIVO Signature Retail.

Also present at the event were Campus Rangers managing director Jason Ho, SKM Market managing director Andy Cham Wing Kian and SubHome CEO Sandeep Singh Grewal.

Campus Rangers, which will occupy 72,000 sq ft, will provide holistic education to students of all levels, supported by more than 40 qualified and experienced teaching personnel.

SKM Market is Malaysia’s leading fishery trading firm and an exporter of bird’s nest and wholesaler of dried seafood that has diversified its business into the management of lifestyle supermarkets. It will offer dairy products, household items, groceries and pharmaceutical products.

Meanwhile, SubHome is a home-sharing platform that manages and markets a portfolio of houses for rent, which will offer hotel-like services to vacation and business travellers.

In his welcome speech, Cheah said VIVO Signature Retail, which is located in a prime area, will be fully operational in the first quarter of next year. “It will add to the line of creative retail spaces in the city.”

At the event, he told City & Country that MRCB Land will announce the tenants of the remaining 66 retail units at VIVO Signature Retail soon.

The maintenance fee is 44 sen psf.

The VIVO series is the first phase of 9 Seputeh, an 18-acre, leasehold integrated development. Launched in 2014, VIVO occupies 7.7 acres and has residential (VIVO Residential Suites), retail (VIVO Signature Retail) and small office/home office (VIVO Suites) components. The residential and SoHo units were handed over early this year.

Phase 2 — Tria Residences — was launched in 2017. It comprises three condominium towers with a total of 734 units with built-ups of 1,500 to 2,000 sq ft.

VIVO Signature Retail comes with a three-acre Promenade Boulevard equipped with modern park facilities, including a cycling track, a jogging track, nature walk, parcourse, stepping stones, a children’s playground, a picnic area, a skate park and bicycle kiosks.
