KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 18): Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (MRCB) has clinched a RM141 million contract to construct central facilities and infrastructure works in Johor.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, MRCB said that it accepted the contract from Desaru Peace Holdings Villas Sdn Bhd to undertake the construction works.

The proposed construction involves the building and completion of: “central facilities, conference centre, SPA, carpark with M&E rooms and back of house facilities & related supporting facilities, 46 units of club suite and 2 units of prototype villa”. The latter three excludes structural works.

The contract also includes the construction of a beach club, a recreational club, remote back of house and overall infrastructure works on several areas in Daerah Kota Tinggi, Johor.

MRCB said that the construction period for the works is 87 weeks from the date of site possession, which is 3 weeks from today.

“The project is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of MRCB,” it added.

MRCB share price went up six sen or 4.2% higher today at RM1.49, bringing it to a market capitalization of RM2.62 billion.
