KUALA LUMPUR (March 23): The Ministry of Health (MoH) has asked the public to ignore new Covid-19 vaccination appointment received via the MySejahtera app if they have already had their booster dose.

Explaining that there is a technical glitch in the app, the ministry said the MySejahtera technical team is working to fix it and apologised for any inconvenience caused.

"Since appointments are sent automatically in the MySejahtera system, there is a technical problem where the system sends appointment links for booster vaccinations to adolescents, i.e. people under 17 years of age. There were also adult individuals who had already received a booster vaccination, who also received an appointment for a booster vaccination," MoH said in a statement.

The ministry stressed that its current policy recommends individuals aged 18 and above to receive only one booster dose for the time being.

It urged parents and guardians of children under 17, as well as people who have already received their booster shots, to ignore the new appointment link.

"Please cancel the appointment and do not come to the vaccination centre," MoH said.

The vaccination centres have already been informed of this technical glitch and instructed to deny entry to people who fall into the above categories, it added.

Last week, MoH said appointments for booster vaccinations could be made through the MySejahtera app starting from March 21.

The public can select their preferred integrated vaccination centre along with a date and time.

The ministry also said that those who have not yet to receive full vaccination or booster dose, or parents who want to bring their children for the first or second dose, can do so by booking an appointment at a selected centre.
