KUALA LUMPUR (April 29): The Ministry of Health (MoH) has agreed to involve private specialist clinics and ambulatory care centres in phases two and three of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

In a statement, Health Minister Datuk Seri Adham Baba said clinics and centres interested in joining the programme may register themselves through the ProtectHealth Corp Sdn Bhd website at www.protecthealth.com.my from today.

The government’s decision to involve these facilities comes after it had approved the involvement of private hospitals in the vaccination programme on April 12.

According to him, the government decided to add private hospitals to the list of vaccination centres after they had volunteered to ensure that 80% of the population was immunised as soon as possible.

“Thus, the government will give free vaccines to private hospitals to maximise distribution and access to the vaccine to the people,” he said.

Private hospitals that are keen to get involved may also register at the same website today, where they may also find out about vaccination procedures, scope of responsibility, payment rates and methods.
