KUALA LUMPUR (June 24): Shares in MMC Corp Bhd dipped 0.85% at mid-morning today after it resumed trading following its trading halt from 9am to 10am.

At 10.34am, MMC's share price was down 1 sen to RM1.16 with 178,000 shares done.

Last Friday, the government offered to acquire Projek SMART Holdings Sdn Bhd, which is a 50% joint venture company between MMC and Gamuda Bhd.

The acquisition is part of Putrajaya's offer to take over the four toll highways owned by Gamuda Bhd and Lingkaran Trans Kota Holdings Bhd (Litrak).

Gamuda announced to Bursa Malaysia that Minister of Finance Inc (MoF Inc) has given offer letters to its subsidiaries and associate companies, namely 70%-owned unit Kesas Holdings Bhd, 52%-owned associate Sistem Penyuraian Trafik KL Barat Holdings Sdn Bhd (Sprint Holdings), 44%-owned public-listed Litrak, and 50%-owned joint venture Projek SMART Holdings Sdn Bhd, to acquire each of their toll concessions.
