KUALA LUMPUR (April 1): The Defence Ministry has spent RM15 million in the 2019 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA'19), 25% less than the RM20 million spent in LIMA'17.

Speaking to reporters at the Parliament lobby today, Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu (PH-Kota Raja) said although the ministry spent a smaller sum this year, the armed forces presentation was better than it was in 2017.

Mohamad, or more commonly known as Mat Sabu, also said LIMA'19 has facilitated a total of RM4.5 billion of contracts and memorandum of understanding.

Subsequently, Deputy Defence Minister Liew Chin Tong told reporters that LIMA'19 was organised by a private company named EN Projects (M) Sdn Bhd, which did not request any money from the Federal Government.
