KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 14): Naresh Alagan has resigned as chief executive officer (CEO) of Minda Global Bhd effective today, after less than one year on the job.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the private education group said the 45-year-old Australian has resigned due to family reasons. No successor was named in the filing.

Naresh was appointed to the CEO role on Jan 23, 2019, replacing Tan Sri Dr Palaniappan Ramanathan Chettiar, who was redesignated as group managing director.

He was previously the CEO and executive director of Air Asia Global Shared Services. He also served as a former manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory, Malaysia, and had a stint in Usaha Tegas Sdn Bhd and Maxis Communications Bhd.

Shares of Minda Global closed unchanged at six sen apiece today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM74.39 million.
