KUALA LUMPUR (July 15): Microlink Solutions Bhd, which received an unusual market activity (UMA) query from Bursa Malaysia after its share price rose to four-year high yesterday, said the group is currently in the final stage of negotiation for a potential joint venture (JV) with another company.

The ACE Market-listed firm said it will make the relevant announcements in accordance with market listing requirements in the event of any material development pertaining to the JV.

“Other than [this], we are not aware of any rumour or report concerning the business and affairs of Microlink Group, or of any other possible explanation that may account for the trading activity,” the group said in its response to Bursa’s UMA query.

Yesterday, shares of Microlink spiked 28.89% or 39 sen to RM1.74, its highest since March 2016. The rally started since Friday (July 10), when it gained 18 sen or 20.93% to settle at RM1.04.

The stock slipped nine sen or 5.17% to close at RM1.65 today, after 3.62 million shares exchanged hands. At the current price, the company has a market capitalisation of RM303.77 million.
