PUCHONG (March 1): Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd will continue to invest in its Malaysian dealerships to grow sales, president and chief executive officer Dr Claus Weidner said.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is a joint venture between Daimler AG and Cycle & Carriage Bintang Bhd. 
 
"Mercedes-Benz Malaysia will continue investing in our dealer network and in enhancing all customer touch points nationwide. We will also continue to extend our unwavering support to the nation's ambition of becoming an energy efficient vehicle hub, in line with global standards, Weidner said here today, during the launch of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia's new headquarters Wisma Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and its training academy.

The academy is known as Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Training Academy. Weidner said Mercedes-Benz Malaysia invested RM74 million in its new headquarters and training academy within a six-storey industrial facility.

He said the green industrial facility, which was also awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold certification, had a built up area of 118,000 sq ft. 

"Our new purpose built facility will enable us to consistently provide high levels of service, expertise and reliability to satisfy our customers, who expect the highest standards of excellence," Weidner said.

At Bursa Malaysia, Cycle & Carriage Bintang shares rose two sen or 0.7% at 12:30pm to settle at RM2.89, for a market capitalisation of RM290.14 million. The stock saw 18,100 shares traded.
