KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 22): Shares in Media Prima Bhd dipped 1.22% at mid-morning today after MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd Research downgraded the stock to "sell" at 41 sen with a lower target price of 35 sen (from 42 sen).

The research house also said Media Prima's 3QFY18 normalised loss narrowed to RM32.5 million (3QFY17: RM50.3 million) resulting mainly from cost improvement initiatives.

At 10.05am, Media Prima fell 0.5 sen to 40.5 sen with 49,700 shares traded.

In a note today, the research house nonetheless said recovery in 9MFY18 earnings is much slower than expected, dragged by the traditional media.

"This could prompt the group to be more aggressive in driving down operating costs.

"Downgrade to 'sell' with a revised target price of 35 sen based on price-to-book valuation methodology," it said.
