KUALA LUMPUR (June 4): Heineken Malaysia Bhd said today it has temporarily suspended operations of its Sungei Way brewery along Jalan Klang Lama in Selangor in line with the Malaysian Government’s total lockdown from Tuesday till June 14 to curb the sharp rise in Covid-19 infections in the country.

"The mandatory closures and restrictions pursuant to the full lockdown are expected to have a significant impact on the market in general as well as the company’s operations and business.

"Appropriate measures will be undertaken by the company to mitigate the impact from the current situation and any developments,” Heineken said.

On Bursa Malaysia today, Heineken’s share price closed 14 sen or 0.58% lower at RM24.08, valuing the group at about RM7.27 billion.

Heineken has 302.1 million issued shares.
